Fix Common Wi-Fi Connection Problems
Work through a reliable checklist when your computer cannot connect to Wi-Fi or the internet feels unstable.

Step 1
Check the scope of the problem
Try the same website on another device connected to the same Wi-Fi. If every device is offline, focus on the router or internet service. If only one device is affected, focus on that computer.
Step 2
Reconnect to the network
Turn Wi-Fi off, wait ten seconds, and turn it on again. Select the correct network and reconnect. If necessary, choose Forget for that network and enter the Wi-Fi password again.
Step 3
Restart the equipment
Restart the computer. If all devices are affected, unplug the modem and router for 30 seconds, reconnect the modem first, wait for its lights to stabilize, and then reconnect the router.
Step 4
Use the built-in troubleshooter
In Windows Settings, open System, Troubleshoot, Other troubleshooters, and run Network and Internet. Apply recommended fixes, then test more than one website.
