Recognize and Avoid Phishing Emails
Spot common warning signs in suspicious messages and know what to do before clicking a link or sharing information.

Step 1
Pause when a message creates urgency
Phishing messages often claim that an account will be closed, a payment failed, or a prize is waiting. Do not let urgency push you into clicking immediately.
Step 2
Check the real sender
Expand the sender details and inspect the complete email address. Attackers frequently use misspelled domains or unrelated addresses while displaying a familiar company name.
Step 3
Visit the service directly
Instead of following a message link, open a new browser tab and type the service's known address or use its official app. Check alerts and account activity there.
Step 4
Respond after a mistake
If you entered a password on a suspicious site, change it immediately from the real service, enable multi-factor authentication, sign out other sessions, and contact the organization's support team.
